# Connect to M: Drive

### Remove the M: Drive

1. Press Windows Key + R simultaneously
2. The Run dialog box will appear

4. `net use m: /delete`
5. Press Enter

### Map the M: Drive

1. Please establish a [VPN connection](https://ne49.tech/vpn/globalprotect) if working remotely and then follow these steps:
2. Press Windows Key + R simultaneously
3. The Run dialog box will appear

5. `net use m: \\vpf-share.mit.edu\vpf * /persistent:yes`
6. Press Enter
7. A black Command Prompt window will appear prompting you to "Type the password for \\vpf-share.mit.edu\\vpf:"![cmd-vpf.png](https://ne49.tech/images/b/8/7/7/1/b877117e8c3f3360fd4f48112842e76d8dfa1af5-cmd-vpf.png "cmd-vpf.png")

9. Press Enter.
10. The M: Drive should now be mapped successfully.
