Get started by logging into some of the applications and services used at MIT

First Day

  1. Connect the computer to your home Wi-Fi using the small globe with a "not" symbol in the lower-right hand corner.
  2. Log into computer using your MIT Email address.
  3. Launch Outlook, enter your e-mail address when prompted, then sign in to the MIT Touchstone box that appears with your MIT Kerberos username and password.
  4. Log into Zoom.
  5. Follow the instructions in the invitation e-mail you should have received from Slack inviting you to your department's Slack Workspace.
  6. Sign into CrashPlan, and learn about our Backup Policy
  7. Sign into Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
  8. If your group uses Dropbox, create an MIT Dropbox account at https://dropbox.mit.edu.
  9. Launch GlobalProtect and ensure you can get on the VPN.
  10. With a VPN connection established connect to your departments network share, if applicable.
